This weekend marks Todd's annual fishing trip with his dad and some buddies.  He left this afternoon so I took the bus home from work (usually he picks me up).  I was quickly reminded why I cannot stand city transit.  At least 3 of the buses passed by; apparently full.  I decided to take the #3 rather than my usual #2 as the 3 comes more frequently. Just as I was about to step on, I was literally pushed aside by a 'gentleman'.  The bus driver witnessed this and kicked the man off.  I got on, but it took me just over an hour to get home when usually it's 7 minutes.  I'm going to walk next time.

On the bright side, it's finally warm so after supper the kids and I went to Lick's Ice Cream for a treat. It's a summer tradition where we each get a cone, walk to the nearby river and toss rocks into the water.   We even saw six baby gosling and their hissing mom.  Maybe she was trying to get on a bus. :)

Tutors and Tooters

Tonight I was flying solo with Emily & Liam while Todd was out fishing.  We live near a world renown river and he's a die-hard fisherman, so he was out tonight.  Anyhow, my kids crack me up.  We were baking carrot muffins for my daughter's kindergarten class and we were talking about stuff - their days, sword fighting, classmates in timeouts (not them, of course!) and why it's better to be a good student when my girl says that our nanny was so smart in school that she helped other kids learn.  So I said, yes she was a tutor. Well, both Emily & Liam started laughing their heads off.  I didn't get it for a second until I had realized I said "tooter."  They thought it was hilarious that she was a 'kid tooter.'  The thoughts of children.

First time blogger

Finally made it to the world of blog!  Since I often have many things and topics to speak about, I don't think I'll have a specific theme.  Maybe talk about my kids, my husband, my work, workouts, thoughts of the day....who knows where this will take me.

Oh, happy 49th anniversary to my in-laws.  He still gives her butterflies.  Amazing.
