Emily is a dog person. She L-O-V-E-S them. Little ones, big ones, furry ones, white ones, black ones, pure bred, puppy, adult, rescue...you name it. I, unfortunately do not share her passion; I like other peoples' dogs, but do not want one. Todd grew up with them; my family had one for a week. 'Luckily' I was diagnosed with an allergy to dogs so that seems to have worked as a reason for keep Coco, the guinea pig our only pet. Since being dog owners isn't an option for us, Emily has looked for other ways to be around them. I used to ask her if she chose her friends based on whether they had a puppy or not. She assured me that she doesn't. She and Todd then decided that she could start a dog-walking business. That excited her and up went the posters around our neighbourhood. I am happy to report that she has some 'clients.' For a 10 year old who really has limited exposure to dogs, they really respond to her and she in turn is in her glory. It's a win-win. I call her the dog whisperer.
