Family Day - Lake Louise

We took a drive out to Lake Louise today.  I wanted to get out of the city, spend some time in the mountains and see the ice sculptures that are carved each year.  Two of out of three were accomplished; no ice sculptures.  I suppose it's been too warm and they have already melted.  It was a very nice day spent skating with my family, surrounded by the beauty of Lake Louise.

Making Peace

Liam loves to play in net.  I would even go as far as saying it's a passion of his.  For whatever reason I have been in denial of him being a goalie.  Maybe it's because I don't understand why anyone would want to stand in front of a hard, frozen puck coming at you at 100 miles per hour.  Maybe it's because I like watching when he uses his wheels and skates hard down the ice. Maybe it's because it's stressful being a goalie parent.  Great when the saves are made, but not so much when the pucks are going in.  As an atom player next year, he has to declare his position.  Since it's not about me, I've made my peace.  Goalie it is.
