Emily's Big Day - Grade One

Today Emily started grade one. I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday that she was born and now she's such a big girl. I dropped off and picked her up so had a chance to chat briefly with her teacher. Everything went great and she said that Emily is very mature. Of course we all know she's wise beyond her years. :)

Vacation 2009

We made it back from our Penticton vacation safe and sound. Sun, sand and lots of great memories. Some of the highlights include:

- picking cherries and peaches from trees and seeing pears growing (we Albertans don't experience that here)
- mini-golf, go-karting and bumper boating
- watching and listening to the kids' reactions while SEA-DOOING - priceless
- Casabella Princess boat tour and the Sangria that went with it
- fantastic accommodations, both in Penticton and Revelstoke - we'll definitely go back
- wineries, wineries, wineries (although Emily and Liam would beg to differ) - we managed to visit about 10 out of ~110; left some for next time
- Enchanted Forest by Revelstoke

The week was very enjoyable and as Emily and Liam get older, holidays are getting easier. Now to start thinking about next year.
