The Kids and I

Todd is away on his annual fishing trip. He typically goes in early June, but for whatever reason this year a fall trip worked better. So it's been just Emily, Liam and I. We've gone out for dinner, tap dance lessons, gymnastics and ice skating (even though it's beautiful today! 23 degrees at the end of September). It's been fun, but tonight they were missing their dad. They put pictures of Todd beside their beds and had lots of tears. It'll be much better when he's home tomorrow.

Some fall pictures.....

Zoo School

Emily's class spent the entire week at the zoo. The kids were split into four groups and each child became an 'expert' on an animal they were studying. Emily studied giraffes. I joined her class yesterday for their last day of zoo school. It was pretty neat as all the kids then 'taught' their classmates about their animals. I learned a lot too! I was also pretty impressed with her teacher as she had to submit an application back in March, write a letter and meet various other requirements in order to participate in zoo school. Only 27 classes were accepted for this year and Emily's was one of them. Considering how many schools and classes are in Calgary, that's incredible.

Meet Coco

After a few months of saving her allowance and trying to find the 'right' one, Emily finally has a guinea pig. Who knew they were so difficult to find?? Anyways, welcome Coco.

Short-haired guinea pig, approximately 12 weeks old.
