School's out!

Emily and Liam are officially on summer holidays. It was Emily's last day of kindergarten yesterday so she brought home a scrapbook of her year. I must say, she's a smart girl. Her report card was very strong so to celebrate the end of the year (for both of them) we went out for a patio lunch today to the Cheesecake Cafe. I can't remember the last time we were there, but it was good.

Emily and one of her little friends.

We also went to a Vipers' baseball game tonight. It's the first time we've gone and the kids were relatively behaved, at least until Liam decided he wanted to find Emily (who went for a walk with her cousin) without his shoes. He (and I) had hit our limit, so it was time to go. I wonder how he would do at a football game.

The house is coming along. Kitchen cabinets are in. First coat of paint is drying. Just a couple more months.

Weekend Fun

Another busy, but fun weekend. Emily had her wrap up soccer tournament. She played four games and was stellar. She's really come along way since her first season four years ago. I'm living vicariously through her as I always wanted to play. Every girl needs a pair of cleats.

Since it was such a beautiful Saturday, we decided to take the kids to Calaway Park after the soccer tournament. We bought season's passes this year so we want to take advantage of them. Besides, not only are there lots of fun rides that both kids can enjoy, Spiderman was there! Todd waited in line while I took the kids on a few rides. So after about 1 1/2 hours, the kids finally met Spidey. Liam was speechless and Emily enjoyed watching her brother's reaction.

Hang on!

So then Sunday was Father's Day. After letting Todd sleep in, breakfast in bed and gifts for dad, we loaded everyone up and headed out to Grotto Pond for some canoeing and fishing. The kids enjoyed it and Todd even had them paddling him around.
