Karate Kid Is Now A Yellow Belt

Liam graded for karate a few weeks ago and tonight were the results.  His senseis actually told us awhile ago that he had passed and will be receiving his yellow belt.  Todd and I kept the secret, but what they didn't tell us was that he would also receive a 'stripe' on his yellow, meaning that he is well on his way to the orange level.   Amazing accomplishment for an 8 year old, considering he just began karate this past fall.

Waiting patiently for his turn to be called

Time to Plant the Garden

The weekend had called for heavy rain, but for once the weatherman was wrong in the right way.  Three sunny and warm days so we (meaning Todd and Emily) planted our little garden.  They planted carrots, tomatoes, peas, yellow beans, radishes, lettuce and green onions.   Even Bailey helped the farmers out.

The Big 3-0 for the 12th Time

It was Todd's birthday this past weekend.  Usually we spend this long weekend and his birthday in Banff or Canmore. This year however we decided to stay home and celebrate in town.  Family sushi dinner on the actual day and then we had planned to have some people over the next day.  Unfortunately the birthday boy himself, Liam and I all came down with a bit of a cold so we postponed the group festivities for another time.  We did still go for sushi and he opened his gifts.  Hopefully it wasn't too bad of a day.  Happy birthday my handsome husband!
