9th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest - who should win?

For the last 9 years we have been getting together with some friends for a pumpkin carving contest. We even have judges that are on standby pumpkin carving night. The 3rd and 4th place carvers cook supper for the 1st and 2nd place 'winners.'

The kids are now also carving. Just no competition...yet.

Happy Halloween Weekend!

It all started two weeks ago. Decorating the house was first on the list. Fast forward to this past Friday. I took Friday off so that Liam and I could watch Emily's halloween school parade and feed the kids the graveyard cake we baked the night before.

Friday night was also Emily's school's family dance. Todd and I dressed up for the occasion, too. Emily dressed up for a third time Saturday for tap and jazz class. Then of course the actual day. Our 9th annual pumpkin carving contest with our friends and then heading up to the suburbs (the child/halloween mecca) to trick or treat with Emily and Liam's cousins.

It was a great halloween, but now I need to recover from the weekend!

The Halloween Dance. Two parents dj and put on the show.

Even Coco got into the spirit.
