Latest Craze - Parkour

Liam and his buddies have a new obsession.  Who knew this even existed?

Parkour (French pronunciation: [paʁˈkuʁ]) is a holistic training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners aim to get from A to B in the most efficient way possible. They do this using only their bodies and their surroundings to propel themselves. Furthermore, they try to maintain as much momentum as is possible in a safe manner. Parkour can include obstacle courses, running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling, quadrupedal movement, and the like, depending on what movement is deemed most suitable for the given situation.
Parkour is a non-competitive activity, which can be practiced alone or with others. It can be practiced in any location, but is usually practiced in urban spaces. Parkour involves seeing one's environment in a new way, and imagining the potentialities for movement around it.

Tennis and Wilted Flowers

Today we finally hit 30 degrees celcius.  I love the heat and will never complain that it's too hot.  No such thing in my mind especially after the harsh winter we just had.  Since I know that our hot summer days are limited, I am trying to get outside with the kids as much as possible.  Today we tried to play a bit of tennis.  Once we finished on the courts, we took Bailey for a bit of a walk through our park.  By that time the sun was out in full force and my children became wilted flowers.  Liam was even wishing for snow.  Hush your mouth, child!

Summer Fun

Todd and I were booked for a trip to Mexico this week, but unfortunately we had to postpone it for now.  I still kept my week of vacation so have been hanging out with the kids.  Yesterday we took Bailey on a nice hike within our city at Nosehill Park.  Today we hit our local outdoor swimming pool.  A great thing about our area is that there are tons of other kids/friends and it's such a great community.
