Back to Reality

The kids are back from a week at grandma and grandpa's. We definitely missed them, but reality came crashing down within 10 minutes of them being home. Now my mom is coming to look after them for the upcoming week. It's great to have them home.

This morning prior to the kids' arrival, we did another float down the Bow. Not as productive as Wednesday, but I had one on and Todd caught this beauty. Not sure when the next trip will be. Maybe the week of the 27th as Emily and Liam will be in Lethbridge visiting Babca and Dzadzu.

Float Down the Bow

Before kids, Todd and I went fly fishing quite a bit. He bought a drift boat (the big banana) last year so he floats the Bow as much as he can. SInce Emily and Liam are away this week, Todd convinced me to float with him and his buddy, Ray. I must admit that I wasn't overly excited as we had a tornado watch today and I'm a fairweather fisherperson. I'm glad he was persistent as it was fun. I forgot how much I enjoy being out on the water. Besides hooking three fish myself (landing only one), we watched a deer cross the river, saw a muskrat, beaver and many mother ducks with her ducklings. And it only rained a bit. Todd also caught a nice cutbow. I tried to get a picture, but couldn't figure out his iphone in time. Sorry!

We took a trip to Edmonton this past weekend to attend a wedding. The kids were invited so they came along too. Both Emily and Liam had a blast. And it's nice to have people tell you that your kids are well-behaved.

This week they are visiting with their grandparents. It's very quiet at home, but the party continues for them...
