The greatest show on earth, the Calgary Stampede began yesterday. It seems like the past few years our summer holidays have corresponded with the stampede so we have missed the festivities. This year we are around so took the kids to the rodeo for their first time. It was fun to guess the scores of the buck and bull riders and then try out a few of the tasty, but artery-clogging foods. Dinner tonight is fresh salad from the garden.

First Camp of the Year - A Success
Emily and Liam's summer has started and their first camp was at the Calgary Humane Society. They usually aren't overly excited to go to a summer camp so I am always hesitant of the experience they will have. Well this one they both loved. Both were chatty at the end of the day and didn't say once that they didn't want to go back. In fact they wanted me to bring Bailey on the last day so that she could also experience the off leash dog park they have on site. They also learned quite a bit about various animals, other than just the typical dog and cat: ferrets, turtles, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs just to name a few.
Hopefully the other camps they will be part of this summer go as well.

Emily's Dance Pics
I finally scanned Emily's dance pictures from this year. Tap, jazz and ballet. Next year she will add modern to her repertoire.
Happy Canada Day
Happy birthday to this great country of ours! It was a beautiful sunny warm day that started with the kids holding their own garage sale (they did so well selling their stuff!) and ended with friends, laughs and a couple of drinks at our neighbourhood watering hole. Good times had by all.
