Each year we expect some flooding and for the Bow river to run high for a couple of weeks. The last time we had any major flooding was in 2005, until yesterday and today. We've had nearly 100 mm of rain (the average for the entire month of June is around 50 mm) in one day. Cities and towns west and south of us have been hit hard. Twenty-five Calgary communities have been evacuated from their homes, the downtown core was closed and all schools were also closed. I've lived in Alberta pretty much all of my life and have never experienced this kind of natural disaster. Thankfully we live above the rivers and our house is safe and dry. Stay safe everyone.

2nd Annual Camping Trip with Dad
For probably close to 30 years Todd has gone fishing with either his dad or his friends. Last year he carried on the tradition but this time with our two campers. It's a treat for Emily and Liam to spend the weekend with Todd and it also gives me some alone time. I must say I was very productive: cleaned the house, went out for Thai with a friend, had a bit of a sleep in, washed the car, took our empty bottles to the recycling depot, mowed the lawn, cleaned out our basement, did loads of laundry (and put it all away), grocery shopped and even got in a run. After all that I was tired and ready for them to come home.
Just a few pictures....more to come when we download them.
