Bowness Park

We finally got together with a friend of mine and her family for a picnic in Bowness Park. My friend has a little girl that Liam and Emily enjoy playing with. I'm sure they will also be good little friends with her newborn son.

Dirty boy!
The only unfortunate part of the get together was that Emily fell off a swing, scraped her knees/hands and hurt her arm. We'll take her to the doctor tomorrow if it doesn't feel better in the morning.

Notice the bloody knees and ice pack...

Bobcat

Emily and Liam were invited to drive a bobcat and 'help' level the front yard. Emily jumped at the chance and Liam quickly followed suit. Driving a bobcat is on my list of "jobs that would be fun to do for a day." No offense to the guy, but I wasn't about to sit in his lap.

The Bug

It's been almost a year since we went on a hot vacation. Now that the leaves are turning yellow and there's a chill in the air, I'm starting to get the urge to sit on a beach, drink unlimited daily specials and go snorkeling.

Go Oilers

The NHL preseason is underway so Todd took Liam to his first NHL game. Todd said he was asking good questions such as "Why does the goalie hit the ice with his stick?" Pretty observant for a 3 year old.

She's a fan now.

Invisible Kids

As the kids get older, they are definitely getting more independent. This morning, Todd and I actually slept in a bit while they entertained each other. They served themselves breakfast and even got dressed. Emily is a great big sister and he listens to what she says. She somehow convinced him to dress alike today.

Maple leaf socks
Emily and Liam turned into 'ghosts' this morning. They thought this was hilarious.
