Us in Picture

We took the kids to Madagascar 3 yesterday for a family date.  We found it quite entertaining and this morning to steer away 'grumpies', I asked Liam which characters we would be if we were part of the movie.  Not sure I agree with the last one...

Liam: Vitali the Tiger (fitting as he was quite a grumpy tiger!)

Emily: Marty the Zebra (also fitting as he was very easy going as is Emily)

Dad: Alex the Lion (enough said)

Mom: 'that animal control lady' - what?!

I think I'm more like Gia the jaguar

A Dad and his Kids

Todd started an annual fishing trip with the kids this weekend.  He took them to Beaver Mines which is a place that he used to go when he was a kid.  I stayed at home and had the weekend to just do as little or as much as I wanted to.  A pedicure and manicure, some shopping, some picture taking, a bit of cleaning and purging of the garage contents took up my time.  It sounds like Emily and Liam had a great time camping and fishing with their dad.  A surprise visit from my younger brother and sister-in-law was also a treat and helped Todd with the adult conversation.  It was nice to stay home and relax, but I was happy to have them back.

First catch of the day.  Liam was amazing that fishing actually works.  They caught 23 fish in total.

Emily wasn't far behind.

Nice.

Flood

It's that time of year again - rain + spring run off = Bow river flooding.  We have had a LOT of rain over the past week (with more to come) so the river has become swollen and in some areas even the bike paths have been covered with water.

Centre Street bridge; notice the water covering the bike path?
