Emily's Turn and "Not Clean Enough"

We took the kids to MEC for 'real' climbing on the wall. Emily loved it and is also a natural. I looked into a crash course to refresh my memory, so I think I'll sign up so that we can take Emily and Liam more often. Good family fun.

After the climb, I went for a pedicure to a place that was recommended by a couple of my co-workers. One of them kept saying "it's clean enough." Well, I can tell you that it was not. It was cheap, but had three strikes against it:

1. Floatees in the water.
2. While with her previous client, the lady doing my pedicure was bitten by something that gave her two bite marks and her arm was swelling/turning red as I sat there.
3. When two people in chairs next to me left and two others arrived, their tubs weren't rinsed or disinfected from what I could tell. They were re-filled and had some blue powder added to them. Maybe the powder was the disinfectant and foot bath salt?

So needless to say, I am blocking the experience from my mind and will not go back.

Liam's 1st Climb

We all know that Liam loves to climb everything so I've been talking to him about actual climbing. Mountain Equipment Co-op has a wall that you can boulder when trying on shoes as well as another more official one that is open to try twice a week...rope and all. So I took him down tonight. He was very excited and definitely a natural. So cute that they have shoes and a harness for a 3 year old! We're going back tomorrow with Emily so that she can try too. Maybe I'll bring my shoes and get back into it.

Emily also had an eye doctor's appointment today. Good news as her vision is improving - 20/25 in her left eye, up from 20/35 eight weeks ago. We'll keep patching and try to get it even better.

Her eye appointment ended around 3:30 p.m. so rather than taking them home and going back to the office for an hour, I took them in with me. They always enjoy meeting my co-workers and seeing where mommy works. I also have new pictures to decorate my desk with.

Sunday Road Trip

We had originally planned to go camping this weekend, but I ended up working yesterday. To salvage the weekend, we took a roadtrip to Drumheller today. Drumheller is home to the Royal Tyrrell Museum aka. Dinosaur museum. Our last visit there was when Liam was about 8 months old, so it's been awhile. Both kids enjoyed looking at all the dinosaurs. Emily amazed us with all her knowledge about the various ones.

After the museum, we headed to Drumheller's waterpark. Neither Emily or Liam had their swimsuits, but that didn't matter to them. They had lots of fun getting wet in their street clothes.
