Liam fell victim to the croup last night so it made for a third night in a row of tending to sick kids. Emily was also still not feeling well, so Todd and I were up for most of the night with them. At about 2:30 a.m. Liam came crying to our room in a panic because he said he couldn't breathe. Not something you want to hear from your little guy. He was confused/scared and asked "What's happening to me?!" I told him that the germs that made Emily sick had now jumped to him.
I took them to the doctor this afternoon and yes, they both have a chest infection. They are now on anti-biotics so should start to feel better soon. Hopefully tonight as I'm not sure Todd and I can handle another sleepless night.

Is that bad?
Emily hasn't been feeling very well since Sunday. She has been home from school for the last two days with a headache, slight fever and horrible cough. I've 'diagnosed' her with croup. Thankfully from what I've read, it sounds much worse than it is. Nevertheless, I feel horrible for her. Between giving her Tylenol or water, Todd and I were up about 4 times last night with her. Hopefully she's on the mend and tonight will be better.
I called her from work today and she wasn't up to taking Liam to school, so she wanted to know if she could stay home while our nanny took him. She's almost 8 years old and has never been home alone. It doesn't take more than 10 minutes to drop him off so I confirmed that the doors were locked and I stayed on the phone with her until our nanny came back. Is that bad? I felt a bit apprehensive, but she was pretty proud of herself. We did the same when it was time to bring Liam home. She didn't seem to be afraid. In fact, she was pretty mature and handled her first time home alone like a pro. It won't become a regular occurrence just yet though.

Todd left this past Wednesday for a golf trip to Phoenix with his dad, brother and nephew so the kids and I went to Brooks, along with one of my nieces to visit my MIL. The ladies and Liam had a great time: a concert Friday night, (Jeffery Straker; he wasn't bad, but Liam was ready to go at the intermission), haircuts for the kids, swimming, Chinese buffet for dinner one night and of course, high tea on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. We came home tonight and Todd will also be back around 1:00 a.m., just in time for Family Day tomorrow.
Remember "Alf"? - this was Todd's when he was a kid.
Cuddling with cousin Kyra.
At the Salon.
More cuddles.
Running away from me and my camera.
Silly kids.
A new toy that was a hit!
Emily looks like a bald batgirl.
Spidey tied up.
The royals getting ready for tea.
