Ballet and Spruce Meadows

Emily started jazz and ballet today. She's been asking for about a year to dance, so we finally registered her. She loves it and wants to be just like her cousins who dance.

We also went to the Masters at Spruce Meadows today. It was the kids' first time and I think they enjoyed it. It was great to see our Canadian jumper, Eric Lamaze win the round we watched.
The horse in the background was 'retiring' from show jumping. His going away gift was a basket of carrots and stud duty in Pennsylvania.
Emily on the monkey bars at Spruce Meadows. She wasn't very happy about getting blisters.

Boys

Liam said to me the other day, "I'm a boy." I asked, "How do you know you're a boy? What makes you so?" His response, "Because I like guns." We have not encouraged play guns, but there you go. He's a boy and he likes guns.

Cuddling with his gun.

House Update

Some pictures from today. Guess they're taking us moving in this month seriously.

My Little Man

It was finally Liam's first day of preschool. He woke up this morning and asked, "Is it preschool today?" When I told him yes, he was so excited that he gave me a big hug. He loves going to school, "just like Peter Parker." Smart little guy.

Wearing his new spiderman backpack AND new shoes and socks.
Could this be a turning point?
Climbing at the preschool playground
He even wore a new shirt!

Surprise Surprise

We headed to Brooks for Todd's brother's birthday party. It was a surprise that his mom organized. Sixty-three people came Saturday night and 38 for brunch the following morning. I forgot how big the Jackson side of things is. Liam had two breakthroughs: 1. he changed his clothes for the first time in four months and he told me he was going to sleep by himself. Since we're home, he's regressed on both accounts. Small steps. On the upside, since all the cousins were there, we hardly saw Emily and Liam all weekend. A bit of independence and freedom is good for them.

Some of the cousins

The house is still coming along. Approximately three weeks until we move. The floors on the main level are almost done and they've started the wood siding on the exterior.
