You're Going to Kellogg??

That's what the border crossing guard asked us when we were leaving Canada for Kellogg, Idaho.  We spent a week in Idaho on a summer holiday with two other families. The condo we stayed at, Silver Mountain Resort was nice, but the best part for the kids was the waterpark that they have.  Family rafts, waterslides, lazy river and a surf area was all we really needed for the week.  We did however also go to the local outdoor pool, on a mine tour, panned for gold and took a gondola ride to the top of the mountain for a mountain top dinner.

Typically we break up 8+ hour road trips up over two days, but we drove through for this one.  It's amazing how much easier the kids are now.  Emily even commented that she likes long roadtrips because she can listen to her ipod and play her DS.  We did stop in Radium for a swim at the hotsprings on the way home.

All in all, a great vacation.

Traffic being detoured because of a mud slide on a highway.  Good thing we were travelling the opposite direction.

Rock Star

Emily and I went to Katy Perry the other weekend.  It was her first rock concert and she was excited.  I was a bit concerned that the concert might be a bit too much, but it was pretty tame.  It was fun to watch her and Katy put on a good show too.
