Tradition: Christmas Tree Cutting

We went out for our 4th annual Christmas tree cutting today.  Grandma and Grandpa joined us this year and we brought home a beautiful tall tree, all for a $5 permit.  The kids enjoyed some hot chocolate and apple cider before heading back to town.  Stay tuned for a decorated tree tomorrow...

Orange Crushers

Liam's junior Timbits hockey team name is the McKnight Orange Crushers.  It's amazing to see how the whole concept of 'team' forms.  He doesn't quite get that he should be passing the puck to his fellow players, but he does understand that they all have the same hoody and toque.  Liam is also very proud of having his name on one sleeve and having 'his' number 11 on the other.

Our household (except for me, knock on wood) has been battling some illnesses the last little while.  Liam started with the stomach flu a week ago, then Emily was down for a few days with the blahs and a cough, and Todd was feverish.  The kids had early dismissal from school on Friday and they were feeling better so the three of us went to the Muppets movie.  The rest of the weekend was relatively low-key other than Youth Singers for Emily and hockey for Liam.  Hopefully this is the last of the sicknesses for awhile. Oh, and today was spent trying not to be blown away by the 100+km/h wind. Downtown Calgary was even shut down due to flying debris and breaking windows in some of the buildings.
