Thunder Storms

On our way home tonight, it started to thunder and rain. It's that time of year where the warmth and humidity team up to bring afternoon thunder storms.

Batter Up!

Before having kids Todd and I often went to the batting cage just to hit some balls. We looked forward to the day that we could take Emily and Liam too. Well, today was the day. After supper we headed out to our local batting cage. Neither of us had huge expectations that they would be able to connect and/or enjoy the 'sport', but both hit quite a few pitches and had fun. I think we'll get them a bat, glove and helmet so that we can just go out to the park and play. I definitely like this age.

More Signs of Summer

With the sun comes outdoor work and play...

Water balloons!
Landscaping. Todd planted three more trees in the front yard. Now there are 7 Swedish columnars and two Schubert Chokecherries. I dug weeds in preparation of decorative stone.

Signs of Summer

Not only has the weather been nice for the past few days, this week was the beginning of the end of the kids' activities. Liam is finished gymnastics, preschool and soccer. Emily is also finished gymnastics and will finish school and soccer by the weekend.

Last time climbing out of the foam pit...until September.

Wrap up pizza party for the soccer star
Now the weekly organized activities will be replaced by fun summer adventures! We were supposed to camp with some friends this past weekend, but the weather was a bit unpredictable. We still tent so I wasn't excited about camping in rain. Our friends were brave though and made it out. We drove out for a visit and supper, but next time will join them for the weekend.
