Next Up - Pompeii

We went on another day trip from our central apartment of S Agata to the city of Pompeii -"The city of Pompeii was an ancient Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD."

Emily had learned about Pompeii in school this year so it was neat for her to experience it.   It was also a very hot day and the heat was intense while we walked through the ruins.  There were many water fountains throughout where we could refill water bottles and keep hydrated.  Liam though wore a black shirt so was quite 'wilted.'  Life lesson.  Nevertheless it was a great day and excursion to yet another amazing place with so much history.
